The next two movies I have started work on are re.FLECT//ALEXIS, Part II and a real short number called "Good Night, Sweetheart".
Dr. Michael Scotts was a brilliant scientist whose vision inspired the construction some years ago of an orbital space station called the ALEXIS, designed to collect enough energy to be beamed back to Earth to power an entire city. A structural failure resulted in the destruction of the entire station, along with everyone on board.. with the exception of the doctor himself.
Now, just as he's begun making a name for himself fighting crime under the alias Radiant Beam, Dr. Scotts mysteriously disappears from his lab... and a hulk of machinery suspiciously similar to the destroyed ALEXIS simultaneously appears in space above Paragon City, leaving his friends and acquaintances scrambling to figure out what to do next.
All the re.FLECT movies are part of a larger project located here.
This movie is a cross between an OP for my comic, re.FLECT, and plain old animating practice. What is an OP? It's an opening segment. Generally, when anime comes over to the US, these are all chopped up and set to poor attempts at rap music or incomprehensible screaming about chewing on soap.
Some short animations I made to help me decide on my next animation. Making 'em didn't help me at all, though, so I figured I'd ask other people what they thought, or if they had any ideas. It was a rush job, but on the plus side, I did stick a Mononoke and a Mushishi -related short in there.
